The comparison model
Escape RV Rentals aggregates live fleet inventory from professional depot operators and surfaces peer-to-peer listings from owner platforms. We don't process payments or hold reservations — you book directly on the travel partner's site at their published rate.
Our role is to save you research time: we've already vetted the operators, documented local road rules, compared insurance terms, and built tools to help you budget accurately before you commit.
How we select travel partners
Not every RV rental operator meets our inclusion criteria. Before featuring a partner, we evaluate:
- Insurance coverage: Fleet operators must provide documented commercial liability coverage. Peer-to-peer platforms must have verified owner insurance policies with clear coverage limits shown to renters before checkout.
- Guest ratings: Partners must maintain a minimum average guest rating (4.0+ stars from verified bookings). We check rating volume, recency, and dispute resolution records.
- Live inventory: Partners must provide real-time availability data. Stale or inaccurate inventory is a disqualifier.
- Cancellation transparency: Cancellation terms and deposit requirements must be clearly stated before payment is collected.
- Customer support: Fleet operators must provide 24/7 roadside assistance or equivalent emergency support. We verify this claim during onboarding.
- Price transparency: All-in pricing (base rate + mandatory fees) must be visible before checkout begins. Hidden fee structures are a disqualifier.
How we earn revenue
When a traveler clicks through to a partner site and completes a booking, Escape RV Rentals may receive a partner referral fee (also called a commission or affiliate fee). This fee is paid by the travel partner from their margin — it is never added to the price you pay.
We display this clearly on every page with an affiliate disclosure link. Full details are on our partner disclosure page.
⚠️ Does revenue influence our recommendations?
We earn more when you book. We do not earn more from one partner than another in a way that would bias our city-level comparisons. Sort order in comparison tables reflects availability and price data — not commission rates. Our local road guides, safety warnings, and campground data are published without partner review or approval.
Our data sources
- Price data: Aggregated from partner booking feeds. Updated monthly. Published in the RV Rental Price Index.
- Fuel data: Published fuel price benchmarks from EIA (US), Natural Resources Canada, and Australian government sources. Used in the Fuel Cost Calculator.
- Local road rules: Researched from official government transport authority publications for each jurisdiction. Reviewed when legislation changes.
- Campground data: Sourced from Recreation.gov (US), Parks Canada, and state/territory park authority databases.
- Weather data: OpenWeatherMap API, displayed with attribution on city guides.
Content freshness
City pages display a "Last updated" date. We refresh price data monthly and review road rule summaries annually or when legislation changes. If you notice outdated information, please contact us — we update flagged content within 5 business days.
No fabricated reviews
We do not publish fabricated testimonials. Partner ratings displayed on our site are sourced directly from Motorhome Republic, RVshare, and Outdoorsy — attributed to those platforms with links. If you've used our guides and want to share your experience, please leave a real review on Trustpilot.
